Clear Paths is a drug and alcohol addiction treatment center located in Keizer, Oregon and Dallas, Oregon. I designed their site and implemented WordPress as a content management system so the staff can quickly edit the pages of the site if they choose.
The site uses a few CSS3 enhancements to add subtle visual effects in some browsers.
AJourneyPhotography.com is the photography website of my sister Stephanie Young in Coos Bay, Oregon. She does wedding photography and pursues photography as a hobby as well. The site is a fairly simple static site with some nice Javascript effects to add a bit of flair. The photo gallery section is managed by the best gallery I’ve come across to date – Plogger. As of February 2010, this is a brand new site and content is still being finalized.
This residential alcohol treatment facility is located just outside of Salem, Oregon. The site is managed with a self-hosted installation of WordPress and the clients are able to update the content on their site without the need for in-depth HTML or other coding knowledge.
The WordPress template uses an advanced staff page template, and several other pages have customized functions and features as well.
HelpSchools is a new business in Salem, Oregon that supplements school fundraising by donating money to athletic and activity programs in schools across the United States. You can visit the site and pick a school to support, then visit an online store through HelpSchools.net. A portion of your purchase price is donated to your school at no extra cost to you.
I designed this site, as well as writing a complete PHP/MySQL/AJAX backend to enable the company to donate money to the schools chosen by their users. I continue to work on the site to provide maintenance and improvements.
This is a project I did on my own to make a web template that could be used for a photoblog. It could also be used as a static gallery or portfolio site. I designed this site for the Sunset Middle School (Coos Bay, Oregon) cross country teams. The site uses WordPress as a content management system. Coaches are able to easily manage meet schedules, news postings, and various resources for their students.
The Sunset teams have been very successful, with the girl’s team placing third at the state meet after an undefeated regular season in fall 2009!
The site has been a great resource for students, coaches, and parents.
TrueGoal is a triathlon (swim, bike, run) training logbook program that I wrote as an exercise to help me learn PHP and MySQL. The program uses these technologies. It is accessed in a web browser via a local webserver (or locally-running PHP and MySQL). The program is free to download under the GPL version 3.
This project has helped me learn quite a bit about database applications, MySQL, and PHP. I’m currently fine-tuning a couple features for version 0.2.0, but after this I plan to focus on a large-scale code rewrite and cleanup for version 0.3.0 (as well as sprucing up the interface). Thus, while the code isn’t perfectly clean at the moment, I plan to make improvements where I can.
